Champion Ilena Di Toro takes on challengers Elliott Kim and Sara Daily.
Jeopardy! Round

Elliott is impressive in this opening round, answering correctly 18 of the 30 clues given, and having at least one correct response in each category. He further gains separation when getting the 28th clue correct, allowing him to pick the daily double on the 29th clue of the round. Wagering $5000 dollars in the “Touched for the Very First Time” category, Elliott guessed right on a clue about Ebenezer Scrooge, who avowed that he “will live in the past, the present, and the future”.
Returning champion Ilena had a correct response in each of the categories except for the token vocabulary category, “‘Neg’ Bait”. However, she could not seem to out-buzz Elliott for most of this round. Out of the 6 clues Sarah selected, she answered 4 correctly and 2 incorrectly. However, one of them was the $1000 triple stumper clue in the aforementioned “‘Neg’ Bait” category.
Double Jeopardy!

There are 11 triple stumpers in all of this round. Elliott had a decent round, splitting a pair of daily doubles and picking up $12000 in the round. Ilena just could not seem to get going in this Double Jeopardy, merely increasing her total from $2800 to $3200 after the round. Sarah actually had a decent round, answering 6 clues correctly and overtaking Ilena to finish with $4000 in the round, even though she was docked when misunderstanding the clues in the “Words within Word” category, answering the containing words in place of the inner words (e.g. “Stream” vs “Ream”).
Final Jeopardy!
The name of these items that became a 1940s fad derives in part from a word meaning “to cut short”. What are bobby socks?

None of the contestants correctly, but none of that really mattered, since Elliott secured a runaway game at the end of Double Jeopardy. Ilena went from third to second by the virtue of not going all in like Sarah. All in all, the contestants have had an increasingly more difficult time in the second half of the game.
